Depression and the black dog

by

in Daily Life

For the last few days I have been using an energy light which is commonly used to alleviate seasonal affective disorder or the “winter blues”. I can’t say it has made too much difference yet but Brin the dog, who frequently needs to be surgically removed from my resting feet, has been unusually chipper.

Who’d have guessed? My dog, the manic depressive.

My energy light is part of a clock, and you set it to gradually come on to wake up to.

Don’t think it’s done much for the SAD but sure beats an noisy alarm clock early in the morning!

Hello

You came by my Blog and left a chirpy comment, thanks ! :)

My dog used to definitely get the blues. Being a border collie, I think he missed sheep, and more so in the winter. He used to try and round up seagulls and would become confused when they flew away after grouping up nicely.

Yours may just be the only “Mom” blog that I have ever liked. Let’s hope the squids grow up and never tell their friends what’s in your top drawer.

Personally, that’s where I keep my melodies.
