I am a new woman today. Weh hey!
Twice this week, the boys and I have slept until 11am. This has NEVER happened before. Ever. Granted, we have had three weeks of sickness and chronic sleep deprivation and a house move recently so we have paid our dues.
Yesterday I woke at 10.45 realising I needed to leave by 11am. Major panic ensued, until I remembered that it is entirely possible for a person to get up, get dressed and leave the house in less than the ninety minutes it generally takes me and two small children to get going. Ninety minutes!
The children didn’t wake until after I had left. Then this morning, Harry woke at 7am and climbed into bed with me for cuddles. We went back to sleep. I heard William at about 7.30am then the next thing I knew it was 10.55am. So thank you boys. I’m so glad, not that you were sick, but that you were sick enough to afford us two lie-ins in one week.
And in related news, it is Mothers Day here in the UK today. My hubby and attendant children have brought me cards, breakfast in bed, the Sunday papers and my laptop. How wonderful are they? I totally love my family today. And it’s got nothing to do with the fact that I haven’t seen them since breakfast….
