Clearly someone Up There thought I was having it too easy.
For the last ten days Second Son has suffered vomiting and diarrhoea then croup followed by an almighty head cold, Eldest Son has suffered a urine infection, croup, an almighty head cold, vomiting and an ear infection and I have has the almighty head cold and the vomiting and diarrheoa.
And you thought I’d just become a lazy blogger.
I have had one whole night’s sleep in the last eleven. Even when the boys haven’t needed me because they’re throwing up all over their bedroom floor or wanting to climb into my bed because they are feverish and poorly, I have been woken by Gymnastic Baby doing somersaults in my belly or forcing out wee from my full bladder with his kicks. I am then awake for the next thirty minutes to two hours falling back to sleep just in time for the other child to wake me because they are throwing up all over their bedroom floor or wanting to climb into my bed because they are feverish and poorly.
So just when I should be resting as much as possible I am now chronically sleep-deprived and snappy and irritable. I felt so bad that I suggested to Matthew that I might go back to bed on Saturday morning for an hour while he minded the children. So I did. So he went out to the garage leaving the children screaming and fighting with each other and then came back in and proceeded to drill in the hallway. I lay there in bed wondering if prison would be worth the satisfaction of wringing his neck.
My only blessings have been that a) it is not Christmas while all this is going on b) the baby has not come yet so I may get a little bit of rest before he/she makes an appearance c) the baby has not come yet so I have not had to deal with two sick toddlers, a sick new mummy and a sick new baby.
See? I may be bowed, but I’m not broken.

Oh man, I hope he starts feeling better soon!
Sending lots of get well vibes and hugs your way! I hope everyone is better soon, and you get some rest before you new baby arrives!
Sounds like you could do with some home help, or better training for the husband…
Men! Do they not understand that a little help goes a long way for a happy mommy? Sorry you are all sick. I hope it goes away before Christmas and you get some rest before that new little one makes her/his arrival!
So what is it about this time of year that turns the menfolk into clueless muppets?
Hugs, and here’s hoping things improve rapidly for you all.
Here’s hoping for a speedy recovery for everyone. Though I guess it’s too late to be called “speedy” if you’ve already been sick so long. Let’s just call it “soon!”
Oh, I empathize! Get better soon.

I can’t get over all that you’ve been through during this pregnancy. I certainly hope the holidays are going better and that you have had at least one full night’s sleep – THAT would be a perfect gift for you!!!
