Asking for help

When it became clear that William was going to be ill on and off for a long time, probably forever, I learnt to ask people for help.

Despite being a blogger I am essentially a very private person and unbearably self-reliant. Asking for help definitely does NOT come naturally to me.

But when news of William’s diagnosis spread we found people coming forward to help, to put him on their prayer lists, to offer practical help with school runs and looking after the other children when needed. I asked neighbours, friends and family for help when I needed it. I asked people for their contact numbers in case I needed their help. I now have a long list of people who are willing to help and I’m guessing that I am likely to be calling on a good many of them in the coming months and years. And if we end up having to move to the US as is planned I will have to learn to continue to ask for help fom new friends and neighbors.

But there is one more thing I need help with over the coming months. And it’s something I need to ask you, dear readers.

Is there anyone who would be prepared to write a guest post or two for me to use here? A couple of people have already contacted me (which gave me the idea) and their posts will be coming up soon. But I would love to have some more posts to use while I am struggling to cope with daily life or when we have to spend long periods in the hospital. I never think of this blog as a burden except when I can’t write here and then I worry – worry that my readers will disappear, my advertisers will send me  ‘where are you?’ emails and I will be ostracised from the blogging community that has been such a support to me for the last four, nearly five years (yes, I was a blogger before it became cool, but look, I’m cool now at least!).

So if there is anyone who could help me out (and you really would be helping me out) please contact me. You can be a newbie blogger, a blogging friend, someone I’ve never met or anything in between – you don’t even have to have to be a blogger yourself. Here are some guest post guidelines if you are interested. I would love to hear from you!
