For the last five years I have sat by and watched with envy as all my favourite bloggers talked about going to the BlogHer Conference, working out in my head whether I could leave my children to fly out to the US and/or whether I could make an international flight and three days of serious networking/partying while wanting to crawl up in a ball and die from morning sickness. Each year, I went to the conferences vicariously through the lovely people blogging it (this was in the days before Twitter, gasp!) and each year I vowed, next year. When my husband came home and told me we were moving to the States I thought, at last – BlogHer. But we haven’t made it out there yet and BlogHer 2010 is only a few months away.
I didn’t make it to BlogHer 2010 but guess what?
This year, I’m going.
And I’m so excited about it. Already. Which makes me think I should perhaps get a bit of a life. But also? A few days away from my family, meeting friends, making new ones, learning more about blogging, doing something I have wanted to do for years and years, beautiful San Diego. I cannot wait.
My lovely advertisers at BlogHer are running a house ad at the moment to win a BlogHer11 ticket. If you look over there on the right in the far sidebar you will probably see it. Click through to complete the survey and be in with the chance of winning it. If the ad is not there you can click here instead.
And if you’re going to BlogHer11 let me know (I’m @notesfromhome on Twitter). I can’t wait to see who’s going to be there this year.
Are blogging conferences your thing or do you prefer to keep it all online?

That is awesome, I bet you will have a fantastic time. I would love to go there. Enjoy. x
I’m really looking forward to it.
Oh I have longed to attend one of those conferences for many years too….only it’s a bit too far and too out of budget to get there from NZ. Will be living vicariously via you next year
It’s a long way and a big expense from the UK too, but somehow I managed to get my husband to agree to me going this year. Probably because I have been talking about it for so many years!
Ooh! Ooh! Me too! Yay!
Fantastic, I hope we can connect while we are there!
